POP CULTURE BAND was formed in 2014, within the Tenerife International Film Music Festival, FIMUCITÉ, as its pop rock division. FIMUCITÉ, born in 2007, has become a benchmark in its genre and it is the oldest film music festival in the world.

 

FIMUCITÉ offers a musical proposal that complements its symphonic concerts and focuses exclusively on shows about “songs written and used in cinema” to reach a broader audience. Since 2014, different shows have been produced with very specific themes. The Pop Culture Band has explored the best film songs from the 70s, 80s and 90s, respectively.

 

On the other hand, The Pop Culture Band has created and performed tributes to Quentin Tarantino, Martin Scorsese or Ridley Scott with the shows "Tarantino Unchained", "Scorsese After Hours", “Ridley Scott, like tears in rain” which include a great selection of songs chosen by these great filmmakers, thus defining their personalities and musical tastes.

 

The Pop Culture Band also offers other shows based on different popular film genres such as “Let’s Dance”, focused on the legendary songs of great dance numbers in the history of cinema, or “Route 66” dedicated to famous Road Movies.

 

This energetic and solid band is made up of a selection of the best artists (singers and musicians) led by its Producer and Director Gonzalo de Araoz. The Pop Culture Band manages to immerse the public in a fascinating musical journey and an intense and emotional experience that will sure bring great memories to treasure forever.
